DR Quick Start Package for Disaster Recovery

AIS DR Quick Start

This turnkey disaster recovery solution enables clients across the country to quickly establish a remote site for their mission-critical applications and data – and put their DR plans into action.

With multiple SSAE 16 compliant, SOC 1, 2, 3 audited data centers, AIS offers clients a wide range of physical and cloud-based DR options.

  • AIS ProServices consultation session to Assess requirements and Design a solution
  • Private rack space in one of our secure data centers
  • Redundant (A+B) power circuits with dedicated power distribution units (PDU)
  • Automatic Transfer Switch for single-powered devices
  • 1 Mbps of premium bandwidth with eight (8) IP addresses
  • Remote hands technical assistance

The Quick Start Process

AIS ProServices kicks off the DR process with an introductory engineering consultation to Assess requirements and Design a solution tailored to meet the client’s needs.

For physical colocation:
AIS facilities engineers prepare rack space in the target data center with enterprise-level power redundancy including a static automatic transfer power switch for single-powered devices.

The client ships (or transports) equipment to the AIS DR facility where the AIS team installs and cables the gear. AIS technical support works hand-in-hand with clients to answer all questions and ensure that the deployment goes according to plan.

For cloud-based option:
AIS ProServices establishes the requisite network connectivity, virtual machines, and storage options to meet the client’s DR/BC needs.

Beyond the Cornerstone

With AIS DR Quick Start, clients have the means for quickly putting the cornerstone of a comprehensive disaster recovery strategy in place. This is a great place to start.

Once the servers are installed and tested, clients may be interested in additional AIS DR services:

Private Optical Network
To maximize performance and security, AIS manages its own private optical network between data centers. The network consists of diverse-path 10 Gbps optical links from multiple providers (and in some cases dark fiber links) to meet clients’ operational requirements. Protected Layer 3 VPN connectivity is provided in increments from 100 Mbps to multiple Gigabit Ethernet connections.

HA / BC Infrastructure
AIS uses a number of high availability (HA) and business continuity (BC) technologies to meet sophisticated client DR/BC objectives. For example, we have deployed enterprise-level load-balancing infrastructure in every data center. Leveraging equipment from F5 Networks, Global Traffic Managers (GTMs) and Local Traffic Managers (LTMs) provide large-scale service redundancy and business continuity amongst and between our facilities.

Managed Load Balancing
By merging high performance switching fabric, specialized hardware and advanced software, AIS provides the flexibility to make in-depth application decisions without introducing bottlenecks. The AIS managed data center load balancing service can handle even the heaviest data center traffic loads at both Layer 4 and Layer 7.

Service Monitoring / Network Management
AIS has an enhanced level of network monitoring that includes early detection of subtle-but-serious issues such as inbound distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. Combined with netflow monitoring, our team is able to identify the target and take appropriate action.

Such monitoring has proven to be very effective at mitigating the impact of these events on both the DDoS targets and non-targeted AIS clients. As a service, AIS can provide custom monitoring and alerts and take initial escalation action as defined by your operational requirements.
