Lightwave Data Center (San Diego, California)
The AIS Lightwave data center is a 57,000 square-foot facility located in the San Diego Spectrum area of Claremont Mesa, California. Originally designed to support the colocation for a large defense contractor, Lightwave is a SAS 70 Type II compliant data center that features the following:
- 9.1 megawatts of SDGE utility provided service coupled with the new “state of the technology” interactive distributed generation system providing seamless transition from utility service to stand-by emergency generator power without interruption
- Dual source supported power distribution for all client hardware; single source feeds available as a client option.
- Multiple path power distribution using state of the technology static switched power distribution units supported by multiple UPS systems.
- Individual cabinets, and secure caged access controlled environments.
- 8 kW pre-configured rack designs; individual ala carte racks of up to 8 kW for client configured environments.
- Environmental systems provide optimal environmental controls for information technology hardware performance consistent with ASHRAE TC 9.9
- Single inter-lock pre-action fire suppression system support throughout facility
