Founded in 1989, AIS (American Internet Services) provides tailored data center and cloud service solutions to companies that require the best in security, compliance, connectivity, and customer service.
Our mission is to provide innovative and trusted enterprise-class IT infrastructure solutions that enable clients to focus on their core business.
From cloud, colocation, and network connectivity to disaster recovery, high availability, and IT security, AIS makes it easy for clients to get the IT services they need.
AIS offers a wide range of data center services that complement a client’s IT strategy; we have a broad portfolio of options backed by an experienced management team:
With 52% market share and over 600 clients spanning dozens of industries, AIS is San Diego’s market leader — and we’ve got great facilities in Phoenix and Los Angeles too.
Our facilities include:
To ensure unsurpassed reliability and availability, AIS network and power systems have N+1 / 2N redundancy levels.
To maximize performance, security, and reliability, AIS manages its own redundant optical network, which allows real-time service delivery from multiple points on the Internet to any AIS facility.
The redundant optical network reaches from San Diego and Los Angeles in Southern California to Las Vegas in Southern Nevada to Phoenix in Central Arizona.
The AIS Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) backbone provides low-latency, highly redundant Layer 3 VPN service between each facility. The MPLS links consist of dual, redundant 10Gbps connections between sites designed to self-heal in the event of a failure.
AIS has more than 70 Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) peering and backbone connections spread across multiple data centers providing more than 40Gbps of high-performance Internet connectivity.
Compliance is a big differentiator when it comes to data center selection. Fortunately, AIS is able to provide support for almost any customer compliance requirement.
AIS is unique among Southwestern data centers in successfully completing the stringent SSAE 16 SOC 1, 2, and 3 audit examinations for each of our data facilities.
These rigorous audits were conducted by Moss Adams, one of the largest and most respected public accounting firms in the nation.
Periodic SSAE 16 SOC audits validate that AIS has the appropriate procedures and controls in place to safeguard client data, equipment, and connectivity.
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 Service Management procedures drive the Change Management and Incident Management process at AIS.
ITIL is the de-facto IT service management global standard and is a comprehensive, non-proprietary, and publicly-available set of “best practices” guidelines.
AIS Service Delivery and Client Services Engineers are detail-oriented and customer-centric, handling operational support 24x7x365.
Founded in 1989, the company was created through the combination of several San Diego-based communication companies including WebCC, ADNC, and Internet Express, as well as the acquisition of the Complex Drive chain of data centers.
AIS is backed by seasoned private equity investment professionals at Seaport Capital, Viridian Investments, and DuPont Capital Management.
