Private Transport to Maximize Your Performance
To maximize performance, security, and reliability, AIS manages its own redundant optical network which allows real-time service delivery from multiple points on the Internet to any AIS facility. The redundant optical network reaches from San Diego and Los Angeles in Southern California to Phoenix in Central Arizona via diverse routes.
The AIS Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) backbone provides low-latency, highly redundant Layer 3 VPN service between each facility. The MPLS links consist of dual, redundant 10Gbps connections between sites designed to self-heal in the event of a failure.
AIS has more than 70 Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) peering and backbone connections spread across multiple data centers providing more than 40Gbps of high-performance Internet connectivity.
SSAE 16 & 21 CFR Part 11 Audited Compliance
Compliance is a big differentiator when it comes to data center selection. Most providers talk about compliance but have not invested in third-party audits to prove that they do what they say they do.
AIS is able to provide support for almost any customer compliance requirement, including FFIEC, FISMA, GLBA, HIPAA, HITECH, ISO, PCI, SOX, and more.
Unique among Southwestern providers, we have successfully completed stringent SSAE 16 SOC 1, 2, and 3 Type 2 audit examinations for each of our facilities.
We’ve also done the Title 21 CFR Part 11 audit of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines on electronic records and electronic signatures (ERES).
These rigorous audits were conducted by Moss Adams, one of the largest and most respected public accounting firms in the nation.
Periodic audits validate that AIS has the appropriate procedures and controls in place to safeguard client data, equipment, and connectivity.
ITIL v3 Service Management Best Practices
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 Service Management procedures drive our Change and Incident Management processes.
ITIL v3 is the de-facto IT service management global standard and is a comprehensive, non-proprietary, and publicly-available set of “best practices” guidelines.
AIS Service Delivery and Client Services Engineers are detail-oriented and customer-centric, handling operational support 24x7x365.

Are We Perfect? No, Of Course Not
We think that AIS is pretty darned great, but we know we’re not infallible.
Like any company that has been around the block a few times, we’ve had a couple of bumps on the long road to our current market-leading position. Such is life, but we own our issues and we’ve certainly learned from them.
Case in point: AIS had a client-affecting incident at LWDC on March 1, 2012. Not all customers were affected, but it was a temporary “black eye” for us.
