How Can We Help You?

AIS Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Methodology
AIS ProServices provides tailored Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity (DR/BC) solutions based on a four-part life cycle model. Each stage in the model represents an important aspect of the overall solution. By standardizing on this model, AIS ensures consistency and effectiveness of the solution.

Assess

During the Assessment phase, AIS engineers work with the client to determine the critical assets and DR/BC objectives, including Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO). The goal of this phase is to define the key resources, operational requirements, and potential obstacles involved in achieving the DR/BC objectives.
Design

Upon completion of the Assessment, AIS staff will use the resources in the DR/BC Toolbox to produce an appropriate architecture for the DR solution. In this phase, research and testing is performed to ensure proper integration with the client’s technologies. In some cases, AIS may be required to work with the client equipment to facilitate the integration.

Implement

After design approval, a dry run takes place by implementing the solution on AIS infrastructure. All components are documented and tested for proper operation. Documentation is provided to the client and failure scenarios are simulated. Design and documentation adjustments are made where appropriate.

Operate

Once the DR/BC implementation is officially deployed and tested, it is considered fully operational, with monitoring and maintenance by AIS. Periodic testing is scheduled with the client to verify recovery objectives.

This is the end-state of the project life cycle unless client requirements change due to scaling, compliance, or changes to RTO/RTP. When these changes occur, the project re-enters the Assessment phase.
