AIS chief executive officer, Tim Caulfield was invited to participate in a panel discussion at the Data Centers Financing Investing Real Estate Development conference that is took place May 23-24, 2011 in Chicago. The topic for the panel he was on was "Tech, Telecom & Managed Services; What Sells the Data Center Customer?"
Here are some points made by Mr. Caulfield:
- The level of enterprise knowledge is important. That involves ITIL and other compliance offerings.
- Staffing is huge. Not only is it important for your company to be working with a team that has a proven track record and a high level of experience, the data center team also needs to be service-oriented folks who can think many steps ahead of the immediate need.
- Regarding the data center itself, it should have a solid reputation that includes no outages. Having redundancy through multi-locations is important and proximity helps too.
The session was well attended.
