AIS Successfully Completes SOC 3 Security and Availability Audit
SAN DIEGO, Calif., August 6, 2012 – AIS (American Internet Services), a leading provider of enterprise-class data center, cloud and connectivity services in the western United States, today announced it has successfully completed the SSAE 16 SOC 3 audit for its San Diego and Phoenix enterprise-class data centers. The SOC 3 report is a summary Trust Services Report that documents assurances on AIS’ controls related to the security and availability principles but without the detailed description of the tests and results contained in the SOC 2 report. AIS has already completed and announced its SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits.
“Completing the Service Organization Controls (SOC) process which provides verification by a third party of the validity and functionality of our control activities and processes, is an important step for AIS,” said Frank Gaff, chief compliance officer at AIS. “Now that we have expanded our portfolio to include AIS BusinessCloud1, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), we are finding that more companies are seeking this additional level of compliance.”
The AIS Service Organization Controls (SOC) SOC 2 and SOC 3 reports were based on the following Trust Service Principles (TSP) that are defined by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as follows:
- Security: The system is protected against physical and logical unauthorized access.
- Availability: The system is available for operation and use as committed or agreed.
